Join Us for a Fabulous Season!
The Jackson Choral Society, one of the oldest non-profit arts
groups in the State of Mississippi, is about to begin its 48th
year of existence and is inviting all people with a love of singing
to enjoy fellowship and music-making in this historic organization.
Each year the men and women of JCS welcome a wonderful mixture
of non-professional and professional musicians, veteran singers,
and college and advanced high school singers to its ranks.
Under the skillful leadership of its new Artistic Director,
Dr. Nancy Osman Moore, Professor Emeritus of Music at Delta State
University, the Society will present two concerts during the
2008-2009 season. The November 18th program, “An American Tapestry,”
will feature a wide variety of choral works by American composers.
Our spring concert, “Music to Soothe the Soul,” scheduled for
April 26th, will include music by Gastoldi, Grieg and Clausen.
